Can we even put these two side by side? After all when one is all so self realised then doesn’t that mean that the all important individuate sense of self, the ego, falls away, one achieves a sense of oneness and compassion, and therefore there is then no space for ego? Ermmm. In fact it’s a big like snakes and ladders as long as we are we.
As we climb up the ladder, there’s a snake lurking around somewhere, biting you, or at least tempting you with the sweetest apple just like Eve was so tempted. So who planted the snake there? Are we really immune to the snake 🐍? Are we even designed to be immunised against the snake? We can’t simply climb up and down ladders hitting and missing the snakes can we? Surely not, else we would have no fun 🤩!
To be self realised is not in itself the end of the road but a stepping stone onto the greater road leading to a disillusionment of the mirage of life as we know it to life as it really is. As we get to know the self, with each feat, comes the little ego except this time, it hides even more strategically behind a greater than bigger than mask almost fooling oneself that one’s greater good makes one “the chosen one” or “the grand master” and all other titles one either inherits or chooses to identify with. To shun them at the beginning they may, but then the labels they become accustomed to forgetting that they are not “the guru”, they never really can be, for, the guru is nothing but a principle within us that takes light for light and dark for dark giving us the sense of discernment of which is which.
No doubt one is and can be “a teacher”, or “a” of anything including a guide teacher and anyone invoking a sense of “I want to know myself, I want to master myself”.
“The” “One” or rather “the master” is the infinity mastered within, individual consciousness transcended, universal and totally 💯 accessible when one is fully receptive vulnerable innocent and without the clutches of the mind or a sense of “I am better than”.
We don’t have the tendency in us to compare compete or vie when we are at peace. What made us this way? When we suffer from complex feelings of inadequacy. The middle ground, a balanced life, fully present and living is a life worth living.
Spiritual ego is even more cunning than that normal ego that thrives on self indulgence and carries an agenda of self promotion. This one, suffers a sort of superiority complex that the best of us can be eaten by. It is subtle.
Catch it before you realise you have been well caught!
