Life for rent by Dido springs to mind. Some of the lyrics:
âI haven’t ever really found a place that I call home
I never stick around quite long enough to make it
I apologize once again I’m not in love
But it’s not as if I mind
That your heart ain’t exactly breaking
It’s just a thought, only a thought
But if my life is for rent and I don’t learn to buy
Well, I deserve nothing more than I get
‘Cause nothing I have is truly mineâ
When we make sense of who we are, and why we are, we begin to take charge of us, we take care of us and we live us. We develop an authentic real sense of self. And folks, this sense of self is different to one we practice being by training our mind using a myriad of modalities.
It is vital to wake up to every facet of us and unravel the root of aspects, otherwise we are still half baked. Any exercise for example mindfulness will only serve to train the mind nothing more. In order to fully evolve into your own, we must conquer the whole of us – meaning mind body spirit. Most of us have an idea and so we take a yoga class and live up or down to the ideals laid out there. Some of us love the ideas of becoming disciples, finding gurus, or the modern day motivational speaker and life coach.
Still, the changes might happen but only as long as you have your therapist on the line and you do your homework. Step out and turn off any regulation and you will be back to the same point maybe a different flavour of a new type of melon.
Because knowledge became so open and widely accessible, all of us seemed to âknowâ, and live as modern day monks and saints BUT only skin deep. We formed cliques and circles but didnât intermingle bat a short time.
When you finally own you, you get you, you can stand being with someone you donât like and let yourself fall apart. In that falling you will find your freedom.
Owning yourself means finally having your self esteem restored. You own you. You have let go of the need to own, because you own you. You are you. Finally. With this comes a great urge to purge of all material belongings. Even relational. What you were you are no longer. Honor the cycle, recognise the whole of you, the new you, and feel the butterflies in your belly as you look forward to the rest of your life yet to be lived.
We donât need to own anything at all when we own us. It is when this becomes us that what reflects back to us is what we own. The flavour will suddenly be one of âOwnershipâ. As we no longer seek to own outside of us, we will own whatâs outside of us too. Because whatâs outside is what we are inside.
Conquer your insides and you will own your outside!
