What happens when we overeat? Or eat very dense food such as red meats? Or even a lot of starchy meals or simply too much food? I feel very sluggish tired and at odds with myself. It feels like I just lost contact with my bodily self. And all this compounds itself in a sense of guilt followed by irritation with self and more. We need much less food than we think and a lot more fluids. Our body is mainly fluid and the mass is much less in comparison. For there to be a flow foods we eat must assist rather than hinder that flow. The food types are entirely dependent on your mind body set and you will know what and how much you need of any food type.
Nutrition is not my forte but I know what body needs and when. I listen. When I don’t listen, I act against the flow and feel the ebb snowballing into other aspects of my life and not just my digestion.
We hear but we don’t listen.
The cues and signals when our little bubba says enough is loud and clear but bubba might have her own ideas and work against that be giving bubba more. Thus teaching bubba how not to listen to their body but someone else’s measure of what the body needs and when. Perhaps this comes from previous parental paradigms ingrained in us as brain maps and models for how infants “should” be fed, and what satiation is. Not only the food we learn to overdo but all else that causes our sensory excitement to get to the point of overload.
We seek sensation that is above and beyond that which is necessary for us to thrive.
The overindulgence of the senses then leads to a desensitisation towards the existence of our treasure map and the hint for it, so we look on the outside about how to find this treasure of us. When we seek the treasure map of us outside of us, our habituated need for satiation that is beyond saturation level, keeps us hungering for more stimulation and more excitement. We keep reaching dead ends in our searches and all the while our treasure map is still sitting their on the window sills of our cockpit.
Dry and barren we become when fluid is no where to begotten. Water is vital for us to flush out the old and let the new come. But we don’t like water. We love squashes and sodas. We no longer feel satiated with what Earth mama has to offer from her bosom, we want to make it different thinking we enhance its qualities. Some might even add crystals to good old water.
Of fluid gives us fluidity. Of dense gives us density. A level of density is needed to keep us grounded. Fluidity is required to bring parts of us together. Density keeps us in place and served the individuate sense of whole self; and the fluidity brings a flow that will bring us connectivity to each whole self.
When we teach our children to overeat and tune out of their self regulation we teach them that it’s not okay to listen to our inner wisdom and and it’s certainly not the done thing to give your inner voice any level of command lest you get admonished for that. As an organism you wouldn’t want to risk your chances of survival just to be yourself! You instead, at the infant stage, choose your caregivers as your measures of self. Pooh! Yep poop.
The opposite of fluid is dense that brings rigidity. No movement. One state facilitates motion; the other demotion.
We are something like this too.
Our fluidity is necessary for us to move from a place of wholeness into oneness. But we cannot connect with all else until we feel that flow. The flow has to be there. So many of us are stuck and stagnating at a particular stance in their quest for life, be that, a so called spiritual state they feel exalted at, or a physical stagnation and rigidity when we are above mingling with the masses and be part of the whole because being islands has been so challenge free so far. Well of course it has! There was no flow! No triggering. Just cosy and comfortable. No oneness. Just a half hearted wholeness that we believed as a fullness of being. Then why the hell do we have so many of us? Why didn’t God simply create just one person and leave them alone to inhabit this universe?
Surely if we were meant to be alone why would we be so many of us? And why so many body parts if only some were to be used? Why so many aspects to us if only some were to be used?
What happens when we have a lot of fluidity and perhaps too little density? Do we have too much flow? Perhaps too little boundaries? We might feel like embracing the whole planet and lose our sense of self. No grounding?
A balanced approach to exploring to aspects of our self is important so that there is no under or over indulgence, neither obese nor malnourished but rather well nourished.
Our approach to our children can fall in any one of these too. Are you being too rigid or too fluid? Can you introduce more fluidity perhaps or do we need more structure and boundaries? Each family will have their own signature.
When we feel whole and balanced we feel connected to ourselves and to each other without a need in us being met by one another. There is no buzz no sensation that is being sought but merely connection for connection’s sake. BUT the tendency to either overindulge or deprive, keeps us either seeking company that creates certain sensory experiences or keeps us under our blankets in our caves. We either eat too much or eat too little.
And it’s this same tendency that keeps us away from our core and that of the universal consciousness. We are all one but we cannot be one until all of us experience wholeness with oneself and then with each other. The wholeness can only come with awareness and a total presence to oneself at each waking moment.
The mind keeps us locked in when the reigns are with us. Get out of your mind, become mindless and mindful!
Can you see what you might be overdoing or doing less of?
Doing is as important as being. Stillness is as important as movement. Because there was such a movement away from our point of stillness it became fashionable to hone in to that stillness and just be. We are human doings and human beings and human spirits. We are everything and nothing. We are all of it and none of it.
What what is what?
What are we teaching our children? To constantly do and busy themselves so we don’t have to listen to them whine and we can get our stuff done? Are we teaching them to be? What are we showing them? To eat too much? Talk too much? Be alone? Meet others? That we need other people or that people are there or not?
Do we stop to think about how far reaching the effects of what we model and show our children?
Get out of autopilot on every levels of you and explore the adventure of being you. Add to your hike another person, and then another. Connect. Connect. Connect.
