Do we get set in our ways ideas and thoughts about life be that how we relate to one another, our career paths children and all? Science could explain what happens through neuroplasty but that is only part of the puzzle.

Just the way it becomes so automatic for us to get up in the morning and follow almost the same routine, day in day out, brush our teeth without a thought about where the toothbrush is or how to squeeze the toothpaste out onto the toothbrush, we also form similar automated thoughts about how life “should” be and how we “should” parent including our attitudes and responses to any new information that might challenge our existing way of thinking. Are we robots by the time we get to a certain age? Are we geared towards finding a mate, having children, buying a house, going on holidays, making friends, visiting a few holy places, and then what? Does this compartmentalising start at infancy? Is it inevitable or can we remain “fresh” and “open” and “exploratory” through our life?

You try and suggest an alternative style to an old parent as a new parent and boom you just hit a very tender spot! On the other hand, you will have parents in the older generation including our own, and even newbies who are always on the lookout or at least have an openness to learn at first from their own children and then step out of their “usual” social circle to see how others out there do it. There’s no getting small or big in all this. It’s simply keeping us on our mental toes and staying malleable flexible and very agile in brain health. The constant learning will stimulate our neurons and in turn add more enriching experiences to our children whose blinkers will not come on as fast.

Is this just the attitude we have in life which in turn reflects in how we parent? I think so. Whatever the stance we take as people is what we will parent, after all it’s the same person. I recall being suggested to read a particular book when I became a new parent. Ooof my ego took the fore and came up with total resistance to this saying oh I don’t believe in reading how someone else is doing this I got this and know my stuff after all I am self aware and this is my kid! Oh what a kill joy response I had then. But then again we do. When we fear our lack being exposed we will coil.

We might be very used to a place and enjoy our food prepared only by a specific person and in a particular way. So much so, that even when a beautiful very palatable delicious dish is presented to you by someone else, that will simply not compare to what you are used to. However, if you were to go to a neutral place to eat, where no specific person is involved, you are likely to comment on the food as being very tasty. The part of your brain that feels it might need to compare to the specific person won’t kick in to action. Our brains are very very complex yet very simple. If the feeling of “good food” come with the association of this to “mother” then in our brain the wiring and firing of the two will go hand in hand.

A lot of our ways are not just ingrained emotionally but are wired in us. But why settle for that wiring when in our brain we have the capacity to experience infinity? The more we settle, the more we age, and our brain only gets part used, the rest goes into the dumpster. What a waste! What we don’t use we loose. Try teaching your infant a few different languages before the age of 5; try doing the same at yours. Notice the difference in how absorbent the infant is? We have that same ability if we can only harness this.

Imagine there’s bare land and you grow only potatoes and tomatoes on it. This continues to the point you don’t even know you can use the same land to grow apples grapes and plums. You see your neighbour doing this and you think aha let me try. At first you resist, and think but your potatoes and tomatoes are so big and beautiful these may not grow that much of you add in the rest. Well by sheer luck shall we say, you take the chance and woohoo you yield a beautiful harvest of much more than you thought was possible.

You might think I don’t mind being alone, in fact I don’t need anybody. What has happened here? You have simply trained your mind to think a certain way and your life will bring to you experiences that validate that set of thinking. Your mind will have brought a limited view to how your consciousness wants to have life be. The mind is simply your tool.

Okay, so why can’t we then manifest using the law of attraction? Because you are using the law of attraction and will only attach that which you are nigh consciously and unconsciously. That means that what you think you are and have become may not in fact reflect the true state of affairs within. There’s a lot more going on. Your brain will only know a certain set of how things work with you. You will need to get in there and do a bit of rewiring which will come from rewriting the code of you.

We have a set of beliefs in us that are unconscious. Some of these bring into becoming, not a life that we ideally relate to but one that we have settled for and one you will adjust to using your mind. You might say things like oh this is just how things are with me or with us; or maybe it’s the stars or luck; you might even say something like I love being alone as a cover up or a coping mechanism for living with the current condition of being alone.

Once we can trace these limited sets of belief or patterns or layers we can then undo these or give yourself a new set of garments to cover up with, those that will help materialise and manifest what you want to co create your life to be.

But how do we even get to that point when we are simply too comfortable and too set in our ways?

A big tsunami maybe? A turning point in life shall we say? The Hindus believe in getting rid of body consciousness to raise our spirit. Perhaps that’s a parallel to saying we need to peel off layers that won’t come off without a catalysing event. We simply don’t want to get out of our comfort zones. It’s asking for too much yet our whole evolution might just depend on this, without which our consciousness remains limited and the life we live a reflection we simply live with resignation to this is just the way things are.

For me, becoming a mama has instilled inside of me a steadfast desire to totally unleash my spirit so that what my child witnesses is a whole person and not one that is waiting for life to happen or dependent on another for completion or happiness. We are fluid ever changing dynamic full of potential and magnificent abilities to manifest.

But remember we can only manifest that which we are and what’s in our highest good. It is always in our highest good for life to bring to us those experiences that reflect an incomplete us or fragmented us so that we can render it whole by acknowledging that it’s incomplete and then realising the whole through self analysis and self acceptance. When we return to that excited wholeness, one that’s ready to pounce and bounce life in, that’s when what you really desire will be manifest easily, as that’s what you are within.

We can only manifest what’s whole without when we are whole within. Wholeness requires an open ended openness all of the time, and not just some of the time. It doesn’t mean we live with other and on each other’s beliefs all of the time, but that we pave the way to at least listen to these. You never know where your next life high will come from.

Are you game? Let’s play the game of life and start the manifesting!
