Something I have noticed a lot is the ease with which I can have conversations with people who are just getting on with normal life without the need to dive into their inner world, at least not consciously or out of their outer expressions. There is nothing like oh I think it’s the energy or I think we are just not a vibrational match or I think my chakras are going through cleansing, and whatever else that denotes a person with an inner world out there. Maybe too out there? It’s just so easy to talk to them. And even refreshing.
Self enquiry, introspection and a healthy self awareness are just what happens when we live life. We may not do it consciously but it’s there. After all we need to understand why someone might have had a reaction, they need to understand why they had one too, so we can continue to live congenially. There is no requirement here to have a spiritual awakening or become a yoga master. This is a life skill that we all have regardless of our station in life.
What started off as well meaning work of the holistic minded us, has turned us into zombies. We have become so confused in the intuitive instinctive and primal us. We don’t know whether it’s the angels talking to us, sudden epiphanies begotten from extraterrestrials, intuition, our fears, agendas or indeed guidance that comes from self mastery. We wanted to live life fully and bring back lost parts of us back in to us. Instead, we are more isolated, more in need of ego pleasing than ever before.
When something triggers us, we say, hmmmm I don’t think this person is my friend, instead I think they might be standing in my way of me getting me. How about maybe taking it at face value, and letting it settle and then looking at what in you it has brought up? You don’t need to be a great yogi or a mystic to do this. It’s innate. We are self regulated. And to cohabit we regulate one another through our limbic brains.
Is there a bloody end to all this inner work? And how does it end? Can’t we simply get on with our lives without forming these pockets of communities? Has it really become that difficult for us to see eye to eye now? Why are we treading on eggshells? Surely with all of us submerged in inner work something might be going against us don’t you think? After all, if it’s not bringing us closer when the time has come to get close and even the spirit in you now longs this, what goes wrong?
So what if you get triggered? Get over it by getting through it. It’s normal. It’s part of life. It’s who we are. The setting each other off is totally normal. It’s what gets us back together again. And we are only being set off by us. Yep, the ball is always with us. We decide. Get out of your comfort zones and love a little. Love is bigger than the love you feel for your families and friends. That’s conditional. The condition being the relatedness without which they would be just like the others.
When does inner work start to grate? Have we gone too far with the drumming? What about the yoga classes? Having them on tap is one thing but when we become so rigid that one day without yoga or our long nature walks blow out our fuses, then we know nothing has shifted. Nope. That inner work needs to be aired.
We went from being obsessed with our houses cars latest trends to inner work and all its modalities, to an isolated inner work era. We want to overkill anything we do. Where does this need for excess come in? The greed?
It’s a scary scramble for a sense of self you think you have lost. You then find it and hold onto it like your life depends on it. What you don’t realise is that your sense of self cannot get lost. It’s here, you are here, you are healed and you are back into you. So why the stronghold on the healed you? Your holding on to “me time”, “my sense of self” and “self love”, is an oxymoron. That act of really holding on, is fear based.
In fact there has been no real evolution. Yes a lot of work has happened a lot of tears and rivers shed. But that next crucial step of integration hasn’t happened. No fusion has happened.
It is safe to let go of the constant self enquiry otherwise it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy and one that once again leaves you in your dungeons of self loathe and self denial.
Get out of the self pity and victim mode. There’s a lot of love and goodness out there. Your stronghold on your bent upon steadfastness to achieve some sort of tantamount self loving is now working against you. It’s keeping you away from life that keeps knocking at your door. And you keep coming up with the same reasons in disguise of not meeting life.
The love you crave for is here. Come out to play. Let your joy guide you. You have really done enough work. Now take a break and enjoy a lighthearted banter for the sake of it with anyone who knocks at you now.
