It is when we need to hear these words the most and perhaps accept some help hugs love care attention and more, when we feel, there simply is no way back. We get ourselves together, only to end at square one again, broken again, feeling despair and no idea about how to get ourselves back to wholeness again. What happened? We had it all worked out, our wounds were healed and how then did we spiral back into a hell hole as if at the behest of some sick joke the universe was playing. And you really want me to believe that not only did I attract this but I chose to manifest this. Hell NO!
When you are back in the doldrums you really can’t see the way out of it again as if it keeps getting harder as you slip back into remission. It’s a bit like recovering from an addition. In a way the mechanics are pretty much the same because we are swapping one thought paradigm, belief system or template for another one, that will more accurately reflect who we are at our core as opposed to who we are that is the wounded us acting out.
If your core wound is self worth and you are a recovering inner critic addict, when suddenly faced with a barrage of personal attack by someone else, or situations not quite working out, this inner critic will and oh it definitely will rear its ugly head and tear your insides apart. Yes it will. Except this time it won’t take you as long as before to know that your inner critic is sabotaging the new you. The key is to totally know know know thyself.
Guilt. This is often hidden beneath our other emotions. We think we are really stressed out about some life situation when it might be your guilt about any opportunity costs for feeling as you do as opposed to a life scenario. Knowing how you want to feel and then feeling guilty that it’s not quite the way you wanted to respond creates a spiral of guilt. And that’s where the inner critic feels most comfortable. As the guilt takes over, you enter into a slump. Once again, it becomes so self consuming that you simply can’t be bothered. You cave into it. You give up. You shut down. This is when once again, you must gather all you have left to lift yourself out again not for some grand purpose but for you and YOU alone.
Do it for you. Make you your purpose and all else will follow.
Because when you know you, you will feel safe enough to to take life head on instead of caving. You deserve the best version of you for you. No more masks. Just you as you.
