When do we feel the “need” to hold on tight? When we are scared. When are we told to sit still? When we want to move but are scared into not moving. What happens then when you really really want something? Do you hold on to that want and push out the competition at any cost or do you pursue it making it your life purpose?
We hold tight when we fear. We are so scared the dream won’t be ours that we become enslaved to it under the guises of visualisations, the law of attraction and manifestation. In fact that very tight hold is what translates, “I am so scared of letting this dream go in case it really does go. I better hold on tight in case I lose hope. I need to have something to dream about. If I don’t have this my life will lose meaning. If I get too present in my life and cosy up to my life as it is and even pretend that I feel all sorted and have it all, I am too scared I won’t remember to “need” this desire.”
So you have your heart set on that horse. Or that gorgeous man you definitely know is the one; or that house you have lovingly developed to make yours; or that daughter you don’t want to lose. Can’t it just be enough to acknowledge that desire let it be let it brew and get in your life? Why the need to hold on to just how things have got to be? Perhaps that’s coming from your mind, even parts of you that tell you what life should be like.
Is there anything you have a tight hold on? Are you having to find time to be still? Do you crave stillness?
Get talking to anything that leads you to the root of the tight-hold. What is it that is making you feel anything but safe, so much so, that you make this desire consume you maybe even eat at you daily.
How about you let it go, and really check in into the venue of YOU! Safety first.
