Within us lives the animal the human the soul and the spirit. The animal part of us is the one that craves safety. It’s the part of us that is the hunter and gatherer. The distinctive part of the animal is fear. That part of us needs food for keeping the body of the animal healthy and well prepared for any “attack”. It is almost always on lookout for anything that threatens its survival, until the human in us kicks in. The human in us has reasoning powers through the intellect that tells the animal when there is danger, where to go for food (like a job to bring the cash in to enable purchasing some food), and mostly to tame the animals instincts so that the human uses its rationale to get what it wants as opposed to act on impulse. Give a dog a bone and it will jump. Give a human a bone and the human will do what it’s intellect has mapped out for it.
Within us we also have the soul which is the individuate form of Spirit that’s unique to o consciousness although not limited to this particular form such as the body we are inside of for now. It is only through the unfolding of the animal into the human that we can unleash the soul and thereafter move into a connectedness that leads to the Spirit which is infinite and unfathomable by the animal or human.
When we master any parts or sub parts of us it feels like a home run. We might think or feel ah now I have arrived only to have a whole other kettle of fish waiting for you to open inside of you. We are that complex yet simple.
Most of us stay in the animal part of us that seeks to survive. And you know the old adage survival of the fittest? So this is when we see ourselves only or mostly as the body we will associate desires wants with needs as opposed to extensions of the whole of us and part of our creative potential. When we come into this life as human we are more animal mammalian than human then. So we need food sleep and a lot of touch for safety. As we grow we need a lot more of touch and proximity to our caregivers including their attention and accurate mirroring of who we are at that time.
When any needs remain unmet we keep the animal need in us wanting and that will be intellectualised by the human making it an animal in disguise need.
For example if you had to throw tantrums to get your caregivers attention you are likely to go through lengths to people please. There are many more coping mechanisms that we build to fill that gap but by the time the human in us takes over there will be different garbs disguises and sheaths to call the animal. Some will shy away from “feeling” keeping others at a distant and this will be garbed as having necessary boundaries for self preservation. This type of person will deliberately attract emotionally unavailable people.
There are numerous examples of how the animal in us continues to meet its needs albeit incognito. The key for the animal in us is to feel safe and know that the basic needs for survival will be met. Some get so stuck at this stage that they will use material gains and accumulate wealth to meet unmet infantile needs. We will keep our valuables in a safe. Can you think of what you do that is safety led?
By the time the human kicks in we are at university and have a job to go to. Well, for some of us at least. The human will know how to get its food without grabbing it. But if the animal is not tamed then the human will have competitive tendencies so much so that they might lie cheat con and form other devious ways of taking what they think is theirs.
When you have conquered the animal in you and then the human has space to use the intellect for more than just a means for survival. The mind and intellect can now be used to go beyond what the five senses perceive. Now that all the needs are being met we can go even further than what the naked eye sees. Our five senses stilled, we can cognise the sixth, we can meet our soul.
Waking up to this naturally brings in us connection. This takes us into the realms of Spirit and it is only then we can fully actualise the true reality of being so endowed as super power humans.
Yes, we really are that powerful. Except to live that magnitude with magnificence is that much more difficult with the animal in us still hungry bereft of a safe cave and soft touch.
