A while back I consulted with some friends and foes (I mean family – okay seriously it’s just jest), about what I may add as value to others lives for which I receive an exchange. In other words what career path is best suited to me? When we can align our work life with who we are it’s not longer work but love. One of the titles I have acquired in my journey is “healer”. Quite frankly I have grown rather weary of this title and find the whole concept of healing very very outdated. Wait, before your knickers get twisted, hear me out.

When we say to heal it is to imply a wanting which in turn means something that is not already there and therefore incomplete. Rather than healing I prefer the word “wholly”. No pun intended. I have become exceedingly disillusioned shall we say by the “whole” concept about healers soothers guides and sundry. Trite I have always said that we are all healers; we all have the capacity to self regulate and return to the zero zone in us and then take it to where we will. But, right now, given the psychic and cosmic climate, or shall we say energetic, most of us are done with healing clinicians doctors and psychotherapy. What we need now is not the healing or the conduit to heal, but the how of bringing in that which is healed in us to the fore of us. So how do we now love in our wholeness?

Was there ever a need to heal? Can we call the natural unfolding of the organism a “healing”? Surely it is what it is. It is a natural innate and self driven return to origin. It is a walk to the other side of you that has hidden behind the other side of me.

When I asked myself what my new found niche is I just couldn’t call myself a “healer”. Many suggested the wounded parent as the platform off of which to engage others to start their journey into wholeness. This would mean identifying a wound which let’s face it not many parents start their journey knowing they might carry a wound or a hole. Some might not even engage in such a possibility. It would simply demand too much investment in self analysis when it’s just so much “easier” to look outward for any answers. We finally settled then on the “healingmamasandpapas” as the new platform. Folks, I sat on this for a while and found no real connection even with this. Finally I realised it is the adage “healing” that doesn’t sit right.

Aren’t we all fed up of “healing”? I feel it is as prone to getting overdone as is our self therapy or book reading or anything we do to indulge or to find space or to even supposedly find us. Are we again overdoing the “healing”? Is this once again moving the focus away from just getting on with things as consciously as you can with an expanded awareness as opposed to letting the healer guide you and eke out the parts that require attention?

What we have is the ability to self heal. How does the blood clot? We might need attention when the wound is big but once you are done then you can learn to live and love the scar. It will eventually go. What happens when there is no scar anymore but you keep trying to heal that same spot? Perhaps the answer not to heal but to learn to live as a whole.

So folks with that I embark on the next part of my journey in “whollyparents” where the parent starts their journey from their wholeness and with that their layers are unpeeled and unfolded. Zero healing. Just a totality of being.

How do we stop healing ourselves and start loving ourselves just as we are and finding that wholeness even in just little parts of us? And then to parts of each other?
