We have had this upsurge in recent years about how to manifest your dream house, dream job partner so on and so forth. We have even had others suggest that to visualise what you desire with fine details attended to coupled with emotion will definitely bring you what you want. Others say we are what we attract, that our thoughts create our perceived reality.
Something I have noticed a lot is there is a certain type of person that you might find at the usual altars and places of worship more often than another type of person that might come occasionally. We have those that ask or seek; and those that come to pay obeisance or recognise their own outwardly expression of subjective divinity. These altars are not limited to just those of a religion; some can be the pagan, the shamanic, crystals, images, idols, fossils and more. The altar or shrine is a place of solace and the one revered for some. Then there are others who have no such altar that’s physical but have within themselves a “self check in kiosk”. Again symbolic.
Apart from altars we have rituals. Affirmations mantras energy healing. And more. Higher self. Lower self. Kundalini. Goddess. Shakti. Waheguru. Krishna. Homam. Candle lighting.
We will all find a way of connecting with whatever we associate a higher power with, when we want to fill a gap, and for today, let’s say it’s abundance.
What does is mean to feel and be abundant? Or that we have faith in providence? What does it mean to have a lack?
Back to the wisdom of little Bubba. Whilst I endeavour to guide and steer my little bubba’s growth, I hear myself saying, “please let’s try to minimise the breakage and damage in the house; we cannot afford to keep replacing things; errrrm sorry little bubba we can afford to replace it all a few times over actually but I simply want you to respect what we have and handle it all gently; errmmmm sorry little bubba, I keep forgetting if it’s there then breaking it might be one of your many ways of exploring and if mama wants to teach you respect then she can move what can break away till you are developmentally ready to learn that”.
Just like that so many things come out. One of them is don’t break anything because we cannot afford to replace these things. That stayed with me and I thought hang on, I don’t care much for the things per se and whether these can be replaced or not is not so much of concern to me than is my little bubba’s safety. Yet it still came out, so it’s been brewing in my psyche. A bit like an automatic reaction.
Have you ever lent a book out and just wanted it back. Or do you tell your child we have plenty so he can afford to play with some food? Yes we value things and all. But that feeling of lack I refer to is when we hold on to something stronger than you need to. Are you open handed? Do you hold on to your pennies? Have you handed out a note to a beggar or pennies? A Mac Donald’s or some organic fruits and veggies or left it to the beggar to decide.
Do you keep the notes for yourself and the pennies and any left over presents for others?
I want to instil a sense of value in my little bubba without adding in a flavour of:
1, we need to work hard for our money
2, money doesn’t come easy
3, rich people are spoilt
4, we can throw things if we are rich
5, being rich is money rich
6, there’s not enough for all of us
7, you need to be educated to be abundant
8, to be abundant is to own a lot of material stuff
9, to be abundant is about being popular
How much of what was mapped by the infant brain, through the modelling by our primary caregivers be influential if not definitive in what we expect providence to be and how it arrives at our doorstep.
Does life seem harder than it is? Are you always losing money? What’s the family history of abundance? Did the family work for their existence? Were pennies counted?
Perhaps we can at least factor in some of this into how we communicate with our children. Maybe make room for their sense fo abundance to flow unhindered.
We can change our brains wiring. That is how affirmations work. What is needed though is:
Attention
Intention
Emotion
When we feel something it stays with us, the brain will register it. Without the feeling nothing happens no matter what affirmations you are using or even not. The feeling of I am abundant right now come from feeling fulfilled now.
Neurons that’s fire together wire together. Look it up so you can familiarise with the neuroscience if so minded. Put simply, if you drank a fuzzy drink after a spicy meal your brain will recognise that these both go together. To undo this you will need to create a focus on what you want to either go or not go with the spicy meal. It’s the same with abundance.
Perhaps you only received presents on occasions as a kid, or went to shop only when the sales were on. Do you still carry on the same legacy with your children now? Perhaps surprise them with a random hug flowers present without a specific moment for it. It says to them, hugs and presents are readily available.
Love is always on tap. Abundance is always there, just tap into it. In the now without any past paradigms.
